«Swiss Meat» at the ANUGA 2013
From 5 to 9 October the world’s largest food exhibition opened its doors to the trade and catering industry: the Anuga, with 6777 exhibitors, 155000 visitors from 187 countries, and right at the heart of it all, the «Swiss Meat» exhibition stand. On a stand area totalling 400m2 «Swiss Meat» presented itself to international industry professionals together with Meinen AG, Micarna SA, Orior AG/Albert Spiess of Switzerland and Traitafina AG.
Studi and the Apéro-Lifestyle from Switzerland
One of the highlights at the exhibition stand was the appearance of von Andreas C. Studer, probably better known to most people as the Swiss TV chef Studi. In Germany, too, Studi is well known from numerous cookery shows and because of his love of exclusive foods. He was the perfect ambassador for the Apéro lifestyle from Switzerland. Proviande, «Swiss Meat», had invited numerous media representatives to the event.
Studi demonstrated to the guests in an engaging and charming manner what a real «Swiss Apéro» looks like, and especially what it tastes like. An Apéro as it is known in Switzerland – with fine dried meat and cheese – does not exist in Germany. Not yet. It is precisely because of the nature of this lifestyle, enjoyment without hassle, that «Swiss Meat» wants German gourmets and the trade to give it greater focus.
On the subject of the Swiss Apéro, «Swiss Meat» – together with Studi – held workshops on the exhibition stand for the first time. Andreas C. Studer revealed professional tricks for a successful Swiss Apéro to selected culinary bloggers and media professionals from Germany. Incidentally, here is his insider’s tip for a rather unusual alternative: «Mix cream cheese with freshly chopped herbs and season to taste, roll up in thin slices of «Bündnerfleisch». Arrange attractively on a plate with delicious accompaniments – the Apéro is ready!»
